Featured Family - David & Shawna

Dave & ShawnaJason and Aundrea are still in Orem and they have three children, Eve is 8, Nathan is 5 and Chrestian is 2. Jason is working in sales.  Aundrea homeschools the kids and does many fun things with them.

Karen and Brent are living in Pasco and Brent works as a tech person for the Kennewick School District.  He loves it there because it is close to family and fishing.  Karen likes a bigger city but is convincing herself that she can make do in Pasco.  They have two boys, Ethan is 4 in February and Joel turned 1 on November.  It is wonderful to have them close by.

Emily and Russell live in Orem with their two children, Sophie who is 18 months and Kyle who is 7 months.  They are obviously busy. Russell will graduate with a BS in December and continue working in Orem while he decides whether to pursue more schooling or not.

Mary, Heath and Amy (4 1/2 years) are now living in Pasco.  Heath will complete his MBA in June, 2007. He has already taken a job with an export hay company which fits his ag/business interests very well. Mary has looked and looked at houses and they finally purchased one two weeks ago in a nice section of Pasco, about 5 minutes from Karen.

Sam is a senior at BYU.  If you check on the BYU Newspaper sight you can pull up his name and see some articles he has written.  Some made the front page.  We especially enjoyed his movie review of “Nacho Libre” and had to watch it shortly thereafter. His major is journalism and he hopes to do sports writing or maybe even broadcasting.  He is still an eligible bachelor sooo...  Two of his roommates this year have been from the Syria which has been very interesting for him.

The big news for David is that he started a job for Adams County in June, 2006, as their Director of Central Services.  He is over the counties phone and computer systems.  He has learned a ton already and also brings a lot of valuable knowledge to the county.  He has a secretary and one other IT person in his department.  He reports directly to the county commissioners so he rubs shoulders with some interesting people.

I (Shawna) love spending time with our family and find special joy in the grand kids.  I am back working in Relief Society as the second counselor in the stake and it is hard to think of not teaching the Sunbeams.  That has been a challenge and a joy.  A project that I spearheaded this year was the making of about 50 triangle type scarves (elastic at the neck) that are used by cancer patients.  We take them to the cancer clinic in Kennewick and they are so appreciative of them.
